30 years

That's what we celebrated this year. We postponed our Europe trip because the Kerls are here this year. Instead we celebrated with dinner at the Cliff House on the actual day, and a trip to Las Vegas over the long weekend.

Winter Day at the Pond

The ducks were extremely hungry today!

                                                                          

Their island home is transformed....

When Sophie is knee deep (or more) you know it's deep snow!

It's such a beautiful, peaceful setting--it truly nourishes my soul.

Snow Snow Snow!

And more snow. It's a winter wonderland today! The perfect day to stay inside (except for a snowy walk) and catch up on school and home tasks. I made blueberry muffins and chiles rellanos for breakfast, and Alberto's stracciatella soup for lunch.

Winter outside, but the promise of Spring on the table....

Treats for Sophie

Ava and I spent an afternoon together and did a few projects. One was making homemade dog treats for Sophie.

What a joy to bring in the New Year with dear friends John and Letha! In past years it has been a challenge to stay awake to see midnight, but the time flew by and we ended up talking till 1:30!
